Meet Doctor's Choice's Newest Pharmacist Lisa Meisner

Doctor's Choice Pharmacy is proud to introduce you to our newest pharmacist Lisa Meisner. We asked her to share a little bit about herself and her background.

" I graduated from the University of Colorado in 1996 where I am originally from . I have been a resident of the Virgin Islands for 5 years. I love the community and the natural beauty. I worked at Walgreens from April 2014 to March 2019, most of that time serving as Pharmacy Manager. During my time there, we became an HIV Center of Excellence and I managed a 340b contract on St. Croix. I remained on island after the storms of 2017 volunteering at the Roy L Schneider Hospital distributing medications during part of Walgreen's 6 month closure. During this time, I also served on the St.Thomas Recovery Team, Health and Well-being Subcommittee Chaired by Dr. Mike Kyzer to help address the needs of the residents of St. Thomas in the aftermath of Irma and Maria. I have special training in providing immunizations, including travel medicine, (preparation for trips to far away places that require special medications and vaccines) and participated in an infectious disease rotation in New York with the Aids Education Training Center in 2017. I spent half of my 22 year career in specialty pharmacy including compounding and hospice. I also worked on the West Coast as a CPR, immunization, Medication Therapy Management and Motivational Interviewing trainer. I am delighted about my new start at Doctor's Choice Pharmacy. "
